The Rogersville 4th of July Celebration is held annually in the Rogersville City Park. It is held on the 4th of July unless the 4th falls on Sunday at which time we have the Celebration on Saturday the 3rd. The Celebration is a FREE event!! A group of Volunteers make up the non profit organization known as the Rogersville 4th of July Celebration Committee. This Committee spends untold hours in the planning of one of the premiere Independence Day Celebrations in the Southeast. Why do we do it? Quite simply we have a desire to provide a fun, free day of Celebration to any and all who want to enjoy it. Our initial quest which continues to this day is to provide a quality program and day long events for those who are not able to enjoy a vacation; a concert; free swimming; etc. In other words, we do it because we care about those who are less fortunate than we are. What is the Rogersville 4th of July Celebration? It is many things and it is all free (except for some food and beverage booths and a few of the larger rides that help us pay for the Celebration). It is free swimming; a sand volleyball tournament; a three on three basketball tournament; a certified 4 Mile Road Race; an old fashioned Independence Day parade through historic downtown Rogersville; local entertainers; a Kids Zone with many free rides for the Kids; games; displays; petting zoo; miniature train; pony rides; kiddie rides; nationally known music entertainers; and the largest fireworks show choreographed to music in the Southeast on the 4th of July!! Who have been entertainers in the past? John Michael Montgomery, Sawyer Brown, Brad Paisley, Tracy Lawrence, John Anderson, Tracy Byrd, Sammy Kershaw, Tom T Hall, Jerry Clower to name a few. In 2005 we had Sawyer Brown and our first major Contemporary Christian act, FFH. Did you say Fireworks? We have the BIGGEST and BEST!! Our show is 25 to 30 minutes in length; choreographed and synchronized to music! It is simply the largest Independence Day fireworks show in a 5 state region!! Do we have crowds? We sure do! Estimates on crowd size over the past 5 or so years have ranged from 30,000 to 50,000 people. What is in it for me as a Sponsor? First, it is an opportunity to be associated with the BEST 4th of July Celebration in the area! We have had sponsorships ranging from $10000 to $25000. These were our major sponsors. As you can see our donations have a wide range of levels. Obviously the higher the donation, the more publicity and opportunities for publicity become available. BAE Systems annually sponsors the Kids Zone for $8000. This provides inflatable rides for the kids to play on all day long for free. Banners and signs throughout the Kids Zone reflect the BAE sponsorship. Most recently First Community Bank provided a $3500 donation for the Cool Zone – two industrial sized misting fans under a tent which provided a brief respite from the sultry 4th of July weather. Also this year, @Work Personnel Services and East Tennessee Iron and Metal each donated $7500 to make the FFH Christian Concert available. In summary – The Rogersville 4th of July Celebration is the PREMIERE Independence Day event for a five state area!! It is all provided free through sponsorships and donations, all organized by a volunteer Committee. All donations are used strictly to put on the show! It is a great opportunity to be involved with this well organized and highly respected, fun, FREE, family event. It also offers multiple outlets for exposure and publicity for your company or business. We have been doing the Celebration now for 14 years. Our budget has grown from around $12000 that first year to over $100,000 for the 2005 event!
